Ski touring weekend with the beautiful and comfortable Stella Oceana as our home. We sail from Tromsø to Lyngen and choose the best peaks on our way, based on the conditions. Everything is ready for 3 magical days in the North of Norway

Stella Oceana has  everything you could wish for. The chef serves exciting meals based on the carefully selected norwegian food. The cabins are spacious and there is plenty of space to relax and take in the skiing experiences and have a good time together.

To find the best snow and ensure safe and good skiing experiences, the peaks we ski on each day are determined by the guide. Our guides are experienced, locally known and, and not least, an expert in finding the best routes with good snow. The tours are adapted to the group's skill level. We have two guides with us, so it is easy to split the group for individual needs and wishes.

In addition to epic skiing experiences, the food and the state-of-the-art sailing yacht, the Stella Oceana crew will always ensure that you are well taken care of throughout your trip. From bringing you hot drinks, wool blankets and pillows outside, to going the extra mile to help you look after your ski gear, they are there to serve you along the way.

On these trips, some of the stages are demanding. On level 3 mountain hikes, there are often some long stages, and / or a demanding summit push where it can get cold. You must stand up to reach the goal, and have a good training basis and good health before departure. We sleep in tents and / or in cabins and hotels, but you do not have to have experience with tent life to participate. If the trip includes activities such as kayaking, cycling, climbing, glacier, skiing / mountaineering, it is an advantage to have experience with this activity.

Training and preperations

In order to participate on this trip, you must have good physical fitness ascending and descending on skis. Ascents can vary depending on the group's ability and snow conditions, but being able to ascend 1,200 - 2,000 meters per day is important when participating on this trip. 

It's important to have experience in ski touring and to be an able skier in mountain terrain outside of groomed slopes. Avalanche awareness and training are important, as well as the knowledge of how to use avalanche safety equipment, such as a beacon, shovel, and probe. Your guide will have the final risk management decision-making on this trip in order to ensure safe ascents and descents each day. Changes in weather, snow, or road conditions can change the itinerary that is presented in the day-to-day program.



            

            

                


Accommodation and food


We stay at Stella Oceana that has comfortable facilities. We sleep in shared rooms, for 2 or 4 people. If you are traveling alone, we will ensure that you share a room with someone of the same sex.








    
There is not a shower/toilet in each room, but good communal facilities. We eat a hearty breakfast, make a packed lunch to take with us on the trip, before dinner is served in the evening.


The chef on the boat serves food inspired by Norwegian traditions and local, ethical, fresh and organic ingredients. All the food will not only satisfy your taste buds, but will also give you energy for the mountains. There might be opportunities to try fishing and eat fresh catch on board.



            

            

                


Other information


Fishing equipment is available on the boat if you wish to test your luck.


We recommend that you take only one piece of luggage with you with clothes, toiletries and other items that are necessary during the trip. We also ask that you take a day pack with you for food, water, camera, extra clothes and necessary safety equipment. Avalanche equipment (transmitter/receiver, search pole and shovel) is mandatory on this trip. If you already have an ice axe, crampon and/or scythe, it can be a great opportunity to get guidance and an introduction to how to use this.
