Trolltunga and Preikestolen Winter Adventure

On arrival in Bergen, the guide will meet us outside the airport at 12.00 PM. From here we drive for about 2,5 hrs to our first accommodation, Hotel Ullensvang. During the trip, we will pass by villages, fjords, cascading waterfalls, and mountains. We will also drive over the Hardangerfjord Bridge, a spectacular suspense bridge built in 2013. On arrival at Hotel Ullensvang make your way to your room before enjoying the amenities the hotel has to offer. There is a large swimming pool (with an infinity pool) going from the inside to the outside of the building, and also hot-tubs and a sauna. In the evening we enjoy dinner together, going through the days ahead.

This will certainly be a day to remember! Today we will hike to the world-famous Trolltunga, or "Troll's Tongue" as it is called in English. Usually, people do this hike in the summer, but we are so fortunate that we get to do this while no one else is doing it, in the snow-covered winter. And with snowshoes on! Trolltunga is a long hike (10-12 hours), the longest hike of the trip so we start quite early driving from our accommodation at 06.40 AM, meeting our local guide in Skjeggedal at 07.30 AM. Dinner today will usually be served quite late (8-9 PM) depending on what kind of weather and trail conditions we meet on today's hike. We will have time to relax at the top, enjoy the view, and take memorable photos on the plateau. 

After breakfast, we will make our way to our next destination, Preikestolen. Before we start the hike, we will enjoy a four-hour drive along the National Scenic Route: Ryfylkeveien. There will be rural villages, fjords, mountains, lakes, and waterfalls, all the components needed for a spectacular drive. On arrival in the afternoon, we will hike toward Preikestolen. At this time of the year, the weather is constantly changing so the trail is often covered in both snow and ice. The guide will adjust the use of equipment according to the conditions. After approximately 2.5 hours of hiking, we are there! 604 meters above Lysefjorden with panoramic views that certainly will take your breath away. Again, we are all alone on the plateau so make sure to save the memories, we are some of the lucky few that get to experience this. After spending some time at this gorgeous natural viewing point we head back to our accommodation for tonight's dinner. 

After breakfast, we will drive from Preikestolen Mountain Lodge to Stavanger to drop everyone off at their preferred location. This will either be in the city center of Stavanger or at Stavanger Airport. We hope that your stay in Norway will leave you with everlasting memories and dreams of new visits! (We highly recommend spending a day or two in Stavanger after the trip. This coastal city is home to an array of great restaurants, nice museums, street art, and churches. If you want a touch of urban Norway as well, this could be the place.)
