The trip is finally underway! We meet at the Grand Hotel Bellevue in the afternoon for check-in. If you arrive earlier, you can check in on your own and spend the day (for example) going for a short hike up to the Rampstreken. After checking in, we go through the week ahead of us before a tasty 3-course dinner in the hotel's restaurant awaits in the evening.
There are few places in our country that can compare with Romsdalen and Sunnmøre. Here, sharp peaks go hand in hand with deep fjords, dramatic mountain ranges and small, cozy towns. We are spending a week in the area to experience what we believe are some of the very greatest highlights that these two regions have to offer.
- Visit Ålesund - one of Norway's most beautiful cities
- Experience the Geirangerfjord
- Drive up the spectacular Trollstigen to reach the mighty Trollveggen - our tour destination one of the days
- Visit remote Trandal, only accessible by boat
- Mountain tour to Slogen, one of the most spectacular mountains we have in Norway
- Overnight at Patchellhytta, a cosy, self-service DNT cabin
On this trip, we will explore the exceptionally beautiful mountain and fjord landscape in Romsdalen and Sunnmøre. The tour offers two of Norway's most popular and well-known highlights: the Geirangerfjord and Trollstigen, but we also take you off the beaten track to explore some of the more hidden gems that the area has to offer. For example, the kayak trip from Valldal, the mountain trip to Slogen and a visit to Trandal, a place that is only accessible by boat.
Every night we sleep in authentic and traditional accommodations that focus on short-traveled and tasty food. One of the highlights is undoubtedly Hotel Union Øye, a striking work of art of a hotel at the foot of Slogen. We will also spend the night at Patchellhytta, a self-service DNT cabin in the mountain home with a more primitive but very cozy standard. In other words, the variations on this trip are large, which will give us experiences that will most likely last a lifetime. Join us and experience Romsdalen and Sunnmøre this summer!
- 24 hour emergency standby team
- Guides with training in first aid
- First aid equipment available
- Cooperation with Turlegen.no for medical advice while in the field
On these trips, some of the stages are demanding. On level 3 mountain hikes, there are often some long stages, and / or a demanding summit push where it can get cold. You must stand up to reach the goal, and have a good training basis and good health before departure. We sleep in tents and / or in cabins and hotels, but you do not have to have experience with tent life to participate. If the trip includes activities such as kayaking, cycling, climbing, glacier, skiing / mountaineering, it is an advantage to have experience with this activity.
Activities / trips with low risk. There are usually few incidents, and they are usually of such a nature that they can be treated locally.
Training and preperations
This is a trip that is suitable for those who have walked quite a bit in the mountains before. We are on a trip five days in a row, but not all the trips are equally demanding. The terrain is hilly and there can be as much as 1200-1500 meters of altitude on some of the day trips.
You do not need a wet card, nor do you need any previous experience of paddling a kayak to join the kayak trip from Valldal.
Accommodation and food
We spend the night in what we believe are the nicest hotels and cabins in the area. It is planned that everyone spends the night in a double/twin room with someone of the same sex. If you are traveling alone and want a single room, you can choose it when you sign up. This costs NOK 5,000 per person.
All meals are included as described in the day to day program.
The easiest way to get to Åndalsnes is to take a train from Oslo, via Dombås, or to take a train from Trondheim via Dombås.
We ask you to bring a large piece of luggage (we recommend a duffel bag, this is easier to handle in the terrain we travel in) for clothes, hygiene items and other necessary things that you need for the trip. We also ask you to bring a daypack that you can use when we are hiking/kayaking.
Changes may occur
We reserve the right to change prices. The day by day program is a guideline and changes may occur. You can refer to our general travel conditions for more information.
On all our trips, we require you to have full health and accident insurance which will also cover any emergency transport home. Read more about travel insurance.
"My husband and I had a wonderful time on this trip, hiking in places that we would not have been able to hike on our own (Trollvegen, Slogen). Eira is the BEST guide and we felt very safe and taken care of along the way. "
