World-class trail biking in Oslo and Telemark

World-class trail biking in Oslo and Telemark

Off the grid glamping at Norrøna Canvas Telemark

From USD 3209

If you love combining mountain biking, delicious locally-produced food, and relaxation in the wilderness, this trip is for you. This adventure takes you to Norrøna's own hotel - Canvas  Telemark - and gives you access to mountain bike heaven right outside your door with nature as your home.

Highlights

  • Experience the forest of Nordmarka in Oslo
  • Bike in over 100 kilometers long bike trails in beautiful Telemark
  • Taste locally produced food
  • Live in unique yurts

Join us on a week-long trip full of biking, and relaxation in beautiful surroundings. On the bicycle seat, we get to experience the best of what Oslo has to offer and some of the most incredible trail biking opportunities in the world, right in the heart of Telemark. For the biking day in Oslo, a normal full-suspension bike is included. It is possible to upgrade to an electrical bike. For the rest of the days, an electrical full-suspension bike is included.

First, we will spend two nights at one of our favorite hotels in Oslo. During our stay in the city, we will be biking in Nordmarka (the wilderness area of Oslo), eating some excellent food, and getting to know each other before we depart for Norrøna Canvas. Canvas is a paradise ideal for all outdoor lovers, especially mountain bike enthusiasts. Imagine over 100 kilometers of slick rock connected together by singletrack trails running through lush vegetation in the middle of the wilderness. Picture a trail that never ends, that goes over a bridge and onto a small island in a secluded clearing. Suddenly, in the middle of the rocks, you spot a hideout built exclusively to elevate your mountain biking experience. This will be our home for the next four days where we will sleep in traditional yurts, eat locally-produced food, and enjoy the spa facilities.

And the best thing? Canvas is built responsibly in such a way that there is no infrastructure and if it is taken down, its trace will disappear. The hotel uses upgraded solar panels, gas, and wood burning as the main heat and food preparation sources.

Day 3:Travel to Norrøna Canvas

After we have enjoyed breakfast together, we depart to paradise for mountain bikers - Canvas Hotel. The hotel is located in an isolated area that can not be accessed by a vehicle, so the last 2 km to the camp will be done on foot or bike. Upon first glance, Canvas Hotel is reminiscent of a safari lodge, isolated on a private island. During our stay, we will live in yurts equipped with a comfortable bed, wood burdepartning stove, and a private toilet, with your bike, the restaurant, and the spa/showers only a few meters away. We live right on the trail, so after eating lunch, we hop on our bikes to get to know the trails and our bikes. The terrain is so varied and offers the best rides for all levels. In the evening we will enjoy a dinner prepared with fresh Norwegian ingredients combined with an excellent drink pairing and a spectacular view of the pond, before enjoying a high-quality sleep in our Hästens beds.

Day 4:Full day of biking

Waking up to birds singing and mist floating above the pond will feel like a dream. To wake you up slowly and get the best start to the day, coffee is delivered to your doorstep. Enjoy the slow morning in bed by the fire or in the morning sun before we meet to prepare breakfast together and get ready for our full day of biking. We will spend the day biking in the singletrack trails that stretch over 100 km, running through the lush vegetation in the middle of the wilderness, over slick rocks, century-old pine needle trails, countless bridges, and two spectacular suspension bridges. The Ice Age polished the mountains, and made them some of the most incredible trail biking opportunities in the world. After a long day of biking, you might feel the need to unwind, and what better way to do this than with a cold swim in the pond, a warm bath in the tub on the wharf, a steamy sauna, or a hot shower made with a barrel hung between two trees? In the evening we enjoy dinner together and share stories from the eventful day.
